A note from Anika
Founder & Principal designer at Anika Schachtler Design
I live a simple, indoor-outdoor lifestyle, surrounded by some of my favorite things—my horses, fresh flowers, and the quiet views of surrounding farmland. Home to me is a slower pace, where I can truly relax and enjoy.
Growing up, I was always drawn to old farmhouses and the rich stories they held. Then later on, renovating our own 1830s farmhouse really deepened my appreciation for the charm of old homes and the importance of preserving history. Original hardwood flooring, moldings, doors, and hardware; these elements are worth saving.

At Anika Schachtler Design, my goal is to design homes that balance the past with the present. Whether it's an old farmhouse or a century-old cottage, I’m passionate about blending their history with modern comforts. There’s a unique soulfulness to these houses that just can’t be replicated, and I love finding ways to preserve that character while enhancing how they function today.
I offer interior and exterior services that reflect this philosophy, specializing in restoring homes from the 1800s and early 1900s. My approach is simple and thoughtful, focused on creating spaces that truly enhance your lifestyle.
When I started Anika Schachtler Design in 2018, after years of designing for others, I kept the focus small and personal so I could connect deeply with each client. My designs are meant to make life easier and better, bringing together the beauty of history with modern-day comforts.
